Fair Winds Initiative

Our Fair Winds Initiative offers sails to organizations that focus on individuals who might not otherwise have an opportunity to escape their daily stresses. Sailing on Schooner Adventure may provide much-needed respite and rejuvenation to those facing significant challenges in their lives.

This includes cancer patients, wounded veterans, Alzheimer's caregivers, families and individuals experiencing limited financial resources, among others. While on board, they are welcome to participate in helping on deck, or simply enjoy the healing, inspirational and restorative balm of soft ocean breezes on beautiful Gloucester Harbor.

Our Fair Winds Initiative demonstrates the power of community and compassion by making a positive impact on the lives of others. We welcome the opportunity to talk with you about sailing possibilities for your organization.

Accessibility Information:

Schooner Adventure, a National Historic Landmark built in 1926, presents accessibility challenges due to its historic design and maritime environment. While we strive to accommodate all visitors, please note that the vessel is not fully accessible for assistive devices such as wheelchairs.

Boarding the schooner requires navigating a gangway, steps, and movement throughout the deck includes uneven surfaces and limited seating. Below-deck access involves steep companionways with narrow steps.
